Jerry: "So here we are, in the studio with Radiohead right here on JBTV, your alternative show from downtown Chicago!

Ed: "I'm Ed.

Phil: "I'm Philip.

Jonny: "[croaking] I'm Jonny and I've lost my voice.

Jerry: "But you're still playing okay and everything, right?

Jonny: "Yeah... I don't use my voice much.

[Clip from live performance] Thom: Hello! [crowd cheers] Chicago Metro, again! [more cheers]

Jerry: "Well, you know, the Metro's a great place because the soul, it's right there and you know.

Ed: "Yeah, it's a great venue! Love it. That's why we want to come back for the third time, because it's very special to us.

Jerry: "I remember you made that album which we recorded last time, with the live footage and everything.

Ed: "The thing I remember about the first time we played the one that you filmed, was that it was the first actual date of that US tour that the crowd went absolutely ballistic. I remember we came off after 50 minutes and were like giggling little kids! We'd never had that kind of reception or response before. There it was great!

Jerry: "We'll see some more tunes, it's up to you guys now to bring the good music in here.

Ed: "Yeah, absolutely, there you go.

Jerry: "So what do you want to see?

Ed: "Um... why don't we see something by the Pixies, or something like that? Whatever you've got by the Pixies, that would be cool.

Jerry: "Okay! Like 'Head On', maybe?

Ed: "Yeah, cool. Or 'Monkey Gone to Heaven', something like that.

Jerry: "All the good music. This stuff will live on forever, just like your stuff is going to live on forever. So when you're old and grey (like me) you'll say 'Hey!' [laughs] Well, here they are the Pixies on JBTV; we have Radiohead in the studio, and stayed tuned because we're gonna give some of those CDs away and we're going to have some live in-concert footage right here on JBTV.

[cut to after song]

Jonny: "We sort of drive around Chicago and Ed does his Untouchables impersonations for us all [laughter in the background]. It's bizarre, it's the only place in the world where the history of the crime is part of the city, and they actually have a history of it. It's very strange. It's cool.

Jerry: "Well, this is Al Capone City! The ghost of Al is still here in the studio...

Jonny: "Cool.

Jerry: "But he treated everybody well from what we understand. He gave money away just like that. He kept the city happy with all the booze and everything! Could it be wrong? [laughs]

Jonny: "So, let's make a TV programme. What do we do?

Jerry: "Well, we're doing it!

Jonny: "Oh well... can't we, sort of, press buttons and things?

Jerry: "You can do anything you want!

Jonny: "Splendid! We'll do that later then.

[Live performance of 'Lift']

Ed: "So that's very cool, yeah. Rusty Blue Nail, watch out for them. Great band.

Jerry: "See here about all the best up right here on JBTV. In the studio we have Radiohead, and still to come: broadcast, we're gonna bring you some brand new footage from Radiohead recorded right here at Chicago's Metro, and it's all on JBTV, your alternative show from downtown Chicago.

[Cut from after a live performance]

Jerry: "Positive?

Phil: "Yes, yes, yes...

Jerry: "Oh, I don't know. You're having more fun with this hand, I think!

Ed: "Yeah...

Jonny: "Yeah...

Jerry: "This is the doll hand.

Ed: "It's very good, I'm impressed! How many of these do you have? Are they limited edition?

Jerry: "This is the only one we have!

Ed: "It's itching, and old, and bitching.

Jerry: "That's me, between old... [trails off] Well, you know. So we'll see some more tunes right here on JBTV and we'll be giving some Radiohead CDs away, so stay tuned - it's all on your alternative show from downtown Chicago.

[Live performance of 'Street Spirit']

Jerry: "So you have a whole pile of dates after this now to do, too?

Phil: "Um... not too many now, we've just got another week to go. Got about another 8 dates to do, and then we go back to get on with the next record. We've got our own rehearsal studio just outside Oxford (where we come from) and it's in the process of being converted into a recording studio, as well, for us, at the moment.

Jerry: "Wow! Now is this analogue equipment, or digital?

Jonny: "Oh, it's all analogue I'm afraid.

Jerry: "Oh, great!

Jonny: "Yeah we're kind of... I don't like the idea of music being recorded on things that don't move and are all in boxes. It's all quite... immobile, yes.

[Live performance of 'Planet Telex']

Jerry: "[sweeping synth noises in the background] Come in Tokyo! [laughs] I've been getting ideas for the new album off of this!

Ed: "We were gonna buy one of these. We've been looking around for exactly the same: an ARP Odyssey. We're trying to get some cool, old, funky keyboards.

Jonny: "Yeah, they're really cool.

Jerry: "This thing's been played by everybody! All you guys come here just to see the synthesiser, right?

Jonny: "It's tempting!

Jerry: "[laughs]

Jonny: "'Cause REM had one of these when we were touring with them, and they love these old keyboards... they're very cool.

[Clip of synth noises]

Jonny: "We're doing it!

Jerry: "[laughs]

Ed: "So they were in here, Oasis? Jonny, come back!

[Cut to after clip of what was possibly 'High and Dry']

Jerry: "Well, there it is – another edition of JBTV. In the studio we have Radiohead; you guys had fun?

Jonny: "Yes thank you it's been splendid.

Jerry: "And now, is your voice gonna get better?

Jonny: "I doubt it, no...

Jerry: "Are you taking anything for this?

Jonny: "No, just cigarettes, but that helps.

Jerry: "Cigarettes and alcohol?

Jonny: "Yeah, I want to talk like Tom Waits. I'm getting there!

Jerry: "You're working on it! I think it's doing good. You could be one of those last night Jocks on an FM station.

Jonny: "What's a Jock?

Jerry: "You know: Disc Jockey?

Jonny: "Oh!

Jerry: "Spins the tunes, takes the phone calls... plays the music off of the approved play list. [laughs]

Jonny: "Splendid.

Jerry: "You know what to do, and our address is [address]. Radiohead, that's the CD we're giving away. Stay tuned next week for more alternative tunes and from Chicago, this is Jerry Bryant signing off. Bye-bye and keep on rocking.

[Fade off with live clip of 'Blow Out']
